The Doubleday Baseball League has finalized two major franchise relocations ahead of the 1996 season. The San Francisco Giants have officially relocated to Phoenix, Arizona and will now compete as the Arizona Diamondbacks. Similarly, the Pittsburgh Pirates have completed their move to Florida, rebranding as the Florida Marlins. These changes mark an exciting new chapter for both organizations.
The league has already received interest from other teams seeking relocation; however, in accordance with DBL policy limiting relocations to two per offseason, any additional moves will be considered during the next offseason cycle.
