Kevin Mitchell, who on June 25, 1996, recorded the 2,000th hit of his career, has achieved one of baseball’s most enduring milestones. The Cleveland slugger, in his 13th DBL season, has long been recognized as one of the most dangerous hitters in the league, pairing elite power with the ability to consistently drive the ball to all fields.

Mitchell, now 34 years old, broke into the DBL in 1984 with Atlanta and immediately made his presence felt. Over the next decade, he became the centerpiece of the Braves’ powerhouse lineup, producing historic home run totals and eye-popping OPS marks. After moving to Cleveland in 1995, he has continued to be a middle-of-the-order force, adding another chapter to his Hall of Fame-caliber career.
