The Doubleday Baseball League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for the period ending July 14, 1996.

United League – Moisés Alou (Arizona Diamondbacks)
Arizona’s Moisés Alou delivered a red-hot performance at the plate to capture United League Player of the Week honors. The 30-year-old left fielder hit .476 (10-for-21) with 6 home runs, 15 RBIs, and 6 runs scored over the week. Alou’s power surge helped ignite the Diamondbacks’ offense, continuing his strong 1996 campaign. On the season, he’s batting .278 with 16 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 45 runs scored.

Federal League – Carlos Delgado (Texas Rangers)
Texas first baseman Carlos Delgado showcased his growing superstar potential, earning Federal League Player of the Week recognition. The 24-year-old slugger was locked in at the plate, hitting .400 (10-for-25) with 5 home runs and 8 RBIs. Delgado continues to be one of the league’s premier power hitters, carrying a .241 average with 33 home runs, 87 RBIs, and 64 runs scored on the season.

These performances highlight the blend of experience and emerging talent defining the heart of the 1996 DBL season.
