uffalo and Nashville Advance to 1996 HBL Championship Series

The Hugg Baseball League today announced the results of the 1996 Conference Championship Series, with the Buffalo Bisons and Nashville Sounds emerging as champions of their respective conferences. Both clubs now advance to the 1996 HBL Championship Series to compete for the league title.


Atlantic Conference Championship

Buffalo Bisons defeat Savannah Swamp Foxes, 4–1

The defending Atlantic champions, Buffalo Bisons, once again proved their dominance, taking down the Savannah Swamp Foxes in five games to capture their second consecutive Atlantic Conference title.

Buffalo opened the series with commanding wins in Games 1 and 2, powered by strong pitching and consistent offense. Savannah fought back with a decisive Game 3 victory, but the Bisons quickly regained control—winning Games 4 and 5 by a combined score of 14–7 to close out the series.

Pacific Conference Championship

Nashville Sounds defeat Naperville Lazy Fisherman, 4–2

The Nashville Sounds are heading to the HBL Championship Series after defeating the Naperville Lazy Fisherman in six games. Nashville set the tone early with dominant wins in the first two games, outscoring Naperville 16–5.

Naperville showed resilience, taking Games 3 and 4 to even the series, but the Sounds’ offense reignited—winning the final two contests by a combined 13–2 to secure the Pacific Conference title.
