The Doubleday Baseball League regular season has come to a close, and now the “real” season begins. The 1996 DBL Playoffs officially get underway today as the top clubs from both leagues prepare to battle for the ultimate prize — the World Series Championship.

Each team enters the postseason with one goal: to claim the champion’s mantle and etch their name into DBL history. The Division Series begins today with the following matchups:

• Cincinnati Reds vs. Kansas City Royals
• St. Louis Cardinals vs. Florida Marlins
• Toronto Blue Jays vs. Washington Senators
• Montreal Expos vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
