1996 Federal League Cy Young Award

Winner: Kevin Brown (Kansas City Royals)
Brown delivered a masterful campaign, earning the league’s top pitching honor with overwhelming support from voters.

Runner-Up:

  • Mike Mussina (Cincinnati Reds)
  • John Smoltz (Orlando Devil Rays)

1996 United League Cy Young Award

Winner: Pedro Martínez (Montreal Expos)
Martínez captured the United League’s top pitching award with a season for the ages, leading all pitchers in voting and solidifying his status as one of baseball’s most electric arms.

Runner-Up:

  • Scott Karl (Arizona Diamondbacks)
  • Andy Pettitte (Washington Senators)
