The Doubleday Baseball League has once again turned its attention to the global stage, reaching agreements with two standout talents from Japan who will officially enter the upcoming free-agent market.
Left-handed starting pitcher Shinji Imanaka and power-hitting first baseman Kazuhiro Kiyohara will be formally introduced to the league at the conclusion of the draft. Both players bring significant pedigree and international acclaim, and their arrival is expected to generate considerable interest from clubs across the DBL.
Teams preparing to participate in bidding should note that the minimum opening bid for either player will be set at $200,000 per year.
Further details and full scouting reports will be released after the draft announcement. The DBL welcomes these two additions to its growing international footprint and looks forward to seeing where they will call home for the 1997 season.
