The Office of the Commissioner of the Doubleday Baseball League today announced that the Cincinnati Reds have earned a Wild Card berth in the Federal League playoffs for the 1996 season.

After capturing the division title last year, the Reds are once again headed to the postseason—this time as a Wild Card team. The berth marks the eighth playoff appearance for Cincinnati since joining the league in 1976.

With another trip to October baseball secured, the Reds will look to build on last year’s success and make a strong postseason run in pursuit of the Federal League crown.
