Yankees Win at Pittsburgh, 3-2
|
New York turned a good effort from starter Brian Bohanon into a win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Bohanon went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-6. New York is in 5th place in the Federal League East Division with a record of 35-50.
The Yankees grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth. With no one out, Roberto Kelly hit a solo home run off Chris Hammond, putting New York in front, 3-1. For Kelly, it was his 6th home run of the season.
"We had a good game plan," Bohanon said, "and we were able to execute it."
