White Sox Fall to Walker, Twins

Larry Walker knocked in 3 runs to help Minnesota beat Chicago, 7-5. The right fielder collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. The win was credited to Trevor Hoffman in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Joel Johnston took the loss. Rob Dibble was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 25 save opportunities.
Walker came through with some timely hitting for Minnesota. With the score 5-4 in the top of the ninth and one down, Walker hit a 2-2 splitter for a 3-run home run. His 16th home run of the season made it 7-5, Minnesota.
"It was a solid team effort," said Walker after the game.
The Twins move to 39-45 with the win, while the White Sox drop to 28-58.
