Expos Need Extras to Top Blue Jays
|
The Montreal Expos scored a 3-2 win versus the Toronto Blue Jays at SkyDome. Montreal pitcher Jeff Fassero nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The Blue Jays, now 41-43, have lost 4 straight.
Fassero, a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, was dealing all game. He kept Toronto hitters off-balance, while giving the Expos 8 quality innings. Fassero threw 106 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 8.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Montreal manager David Polakoff.
