Kent goes 3-for-4, Expos Move to 52-32
Getting a good performance from second baseman Jeff Kent, the Montreal Expos defeated the Detroit Tigers, 8-6. Kent went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Expos. Chris Nabholz, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 6-4. Ed Correa earned his 12th save in 15 chances.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Raul Mondesi to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Expos on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kent told the Montreal Herald.

The Expos have an impressive 52-32 record.
