Pirates Prevail, 3-1, Over Chicago
|
Chris Nabholz never let the White Sox get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Pirates to a 3-1 win. Pittsburgh, now 5-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Pirates used some clutch hitting to beat the White Sox, a good example being the at-bat of Dwayne Hosey in the top of the fourth. With two down, Hosey gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hosey.
