Lilliquist Now 10-3 After Subduing Pilots
|
Oakland starter Derek Lilliquist pitched effectively against the Seattle Pilots at Oakland Coliseum. The left-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Jay Howell was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 31 save opportunities. Oakland's record now stands at 50-36, placing them third in the United League West Division.
The Pilots had few good swings against Lilliquist, the left-hander, who threw 125 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 5 hits.
