The Cincinnati Reds topped the Florida Marlins, 7-5, in Federal League action at Joe Robbie Stadium. The player of the game was Cincinnati pitcher and Statesboro, Georgia native Joey Hamilton. Cincinnati, now 48-39, holds second place in the Federal League East Division.

Scott Rolen, the Cincinnati third baseman, contributed a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 4-3, Reds. For the game, Rolen went 1-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
