The Milwaukee Creams got a magnificent performance from pitcher Kelly Downs, who muffled the Charlotte offense en route to a tight 3-1 Creams win at Comiskey Park. Rob Murphy was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 10 save opportunities. The Creams bumped their record to 51-36 with this latest triumph.

Milwaukee used the clutch hitting of Chipper Jones to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Creams ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Milwaukee skipper Sean Norman.
