Kansas City rode a fine outing from starter Denny Neagle to victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Mike Stanton, credited with the save, is now 27 for 30 in save opportunities. Kansas City improves to 67-21 with the win. They lead their division by 17½ games.
Jim Thome helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
