Reed Now 5-3 After Subduing Cubs
|
The first-place Kansas City Royals took on the Chicago Cubs at Royals Stadium.
Pitcher Rick Reed was sensational for the Kansas City Royals in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Chicago Cubs. Reed received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Kansas City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Reed, the winner, is now 5-3. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 4 hits, while collecting 8 Ks. He essentially shut down the Chicago offense.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Reed said after the game.
