Tigers Stymie Baltimore, Take 5-1 Win
|
It was a fun time at Tiger Stadium, where the Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers tangled.
The Detroit Tigers went home winners at Tiger Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Felipe Lira. Lira silenced the Baltimore Orioles, enabling Detroit to grab the 5-1 win. Even with the win, the Tigers have a dismal 30-57 record.
Tino Martinez was vital part of the Detroit win. He was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth with two out, Martinez hit a grand slam. It made the score 5-1, in favor of the Tigers.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Detroit manager Julio Izquierdo. "Our pregame was pretty good."
