Rockies Beat Visiting Pilots, 8-5
|
The Colorado Rockies stopped the Seattle Pilots, 8-5, behind an impressive performance from Todd Helton. The 23-year old first baseman made life miserable for Seattle pitching. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Joey Eischen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 17 save opportunities. The Rockies sit in 4th place in the United League West Division with a record of 41-45.
David Dellucci drew 2 walks against the Pilots. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Colorado in front, 1-0.
"Todd is still learning," said Rockies manager . "The sky's the limit for him."
