Twins Win at Texas, 2-1
|
Minnesota Twins starter Pedro Astacio pitched a strong game against the Texas Rangers at Arlington Stadium, leading the Twins to a 2-1 win. Astacio got the win, improving to 6-7. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Astacio allowed 1 earned run. Rob Dibble earned his 24th save in 27 chances.
Geronimo Berroa came through for the Twins in the top of the sixth inning. With Minnesota leading 1-0, the left fielder had a run-scoring single.
"Against this team here, fangs out late in the game, it's nice to beat them," said Minnesota skipper Darren Fischbach.
Today's win puts Minnesota at 41-46, while Texas falls to 42-47.
