Walk-Off Victory for Dodgers Takes Record to 50-41
|
Los Angeles center fielder Torii Hunter was instrumental in his team's 8-4 win over the Colorado Rockies. Hunter went 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Dodgers. Los Angeles reliever Lance Painter picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Jason Christiansen shouldered the loss. Los Angeles has now won 7 games in a row.
An important at-bat for the Dodgers came in the bottom of the 13th, when right fielder Jeffrey Hammonds stroked a grand slam home run. That made the score 8-4 in favor of Los Angeles. For the day, Hammonds went 2-5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Colorado manager .
