Big Game from Pasqua Not Enough, Cubs Lose
The St. Louis Cardinals overcame a good performance by Chicago left fielder Dan Pasqua to knock off Chicago, 17-8, at Busch Stadium. Pasqua slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. St. Louis is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Mike Lansing had a big 3-run home run for the Cardinals in the bottom of the seventh inning. With St. Louis trailing 8-7 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Mike Holtz and stroked the home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 10-8.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lansing told reporters after the game.
