White Sox Turn Back Rangers, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Chicago White Sox got the win.
White Sox right fielder Andy Van Slyke put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the Texas Rangers. Van Slyke went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Chicago in the contest. The Rangers, now 42-51, have lost 5 straight.
The White Sox beat the Rangers with some clutch hitting. The single by Ray Holbert in the bottom of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Holbert gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Texas manager Sean Norman.
