Blue Jays Need Extras to Top Orioles
|
Kent Hrbek did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Baltimore Orioles from losing, 9-7, to the Toronto Blue Jays at Memorial Stadium. Hrbek went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Toronto reliever Scott Ruskin picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Roger McDowell was saddled with the loss. The Orioles, at 33-61, have lost 7 straight games.
Dean Palmer had a nice at-bat for the Blue Jays with one out in the top of the 11th. With a runner on 1st, the third baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Toronto win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Palmer said.
