Late Rally by Blue Jays Secures Win
|
Spirited fans at Memorial Stadium greeted the Baltimore Orioles for their clash with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Baltimore Orioles got a superb performance from pitcher Dave Walsh. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Toronto. The Blue Jays won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Walsh was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Reliever Scott Ruskin picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Julian Tavarez took the loss.
The Blue Jays got a big boost from pinch hitter Lyle Mouton who had a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning off Orioles hurler Julian Tavarez. It was his 4th double of the season and put Toronto on top, 3-2.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Baltimore manager Daniel Ward.
The Orioles, at 33-62, have lost 8 straight games.
