Expos Subdue Washington, 4-3
The Montreal Expos did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Washington Senators at Olympic Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Chris Nabholz, who captured player of the game honors. Nabholz went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 7-4. Mike Jeffcoat got the save, his 10th in 14 chances.

With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, Marvin Benard barreled up a fastball from Kevin Millwood. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Expos in front, 4-0.

"We put together a nice win," Nabholz said.

Montreal now has a 4-game win streak.
