The Washington Senators defeated the Montreal Expos, 13-7, at Olympic Stadium. Washington left fielder Albert Belle was named player of the game for his superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5. The Senators have an impressive 58-37 record.

An important at-bat for Washington came with no one out in the top of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Belle hit a 2-run triple, which contributed to the Senators win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Belle. "And not try to do too much."
