Charlotte Knights starter Erik Hanson was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Cincinnati Reds, 4-2. Charlotte reliever Matt Mantei was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Joey Hamilton took the loss. With the victory, the Knights record now stands at 47-50.

The Knights beat the Reds with some clutch hitting. The double by Orlando Merced in the bottom of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Merced gave his team the lead, 3-1, when he came through with the big hit.

"It feels good to get this one," Merced told the Charlotte Daily News.
