Leiter Finds Groove in 4-1 Triumph
|
Spirited fans at Shea Stadium greeted the New York Mets for their clash with the Colorado Rockies.
Colorado rode a good effort from starter Al Leiter to beat the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. The final score was 4-1. The Rockies bumped their record to 54-41 with this latest triumph.
Leiter, the winner, is now 7-6. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 7 Ks. He essentially shut down the New York offense.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Leiter.
