Blue Jays Prevail, 5-4, Over Arizona
|
The Toronto Blue Jays did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at SkyDome. Nobody did more than right fielder Ellis Burks, who captured player of the game honors. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 54-43 with this latest triumph.
Burks put Toronto up, 3-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Floyd Youmans in the bottom of the sixth. His 17th home run of the season helped the Blue Jays capture the win.
"I like our moxie," said Blue Jays manager Jose Mata.
