Cardinals Get One-Run Win at Florida
The St. Louis Cardinals did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Florida Marlins at Joe Robbie Stadium. Nobody did more than right fielder Karim Garcia, who captured player of the game honors. St. Louis reliever Dana Allison was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Al Leiter took the loss for Florida. St. Louis is now 46-51. Florida is 58-39.

Garcia came through with some timely hitting for St. Louis. With the score 1-0 in the top of the fifth and two down, Garcia hit a 1-1 curveball for a bases-clearing double. His 16th double of the season made it 4-0, St. Louis.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Florida skipper Stephen Ginter.
