Reds Hold Off Rangers, 1-0
|
The game between Cincinnati and Texas is in the books, despite a little rain.
Cincinnati Reds starter Jose Rijo pitched effectively against the Texas Rangers at Riverfront Stadium. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 1-0 win. Rijo got the win, improving to 13-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Rijo allowed no earned runs. Todd Worrell converted his 25th save in 28 tries.
David Segui chipped in for Cincinnati with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Sean Norman.
