Senators Double Up Oakland, 6-3
|
The Washington Senators picked up a win at RFK Stadium, knocking off the Oakland Athletics, 6-3. Starting pitcher John Burkett, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Senators have an impressive 60-37 record.
Washington took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, Alex Rodriguez hit a solo home run to make it 3-2, Senators.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Rodriguez told the Washington Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
