Orioles Topple Giants with Late Rally
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Candlestick Park, knocking off the San Francisco Giants, 4-3. Starting pitcher Steve Avery played a key role in the triumph. Avery got the win, improving to 13-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Avery allowed 3 earned runs. Roger McDowell earned his 23rd save in 24 chances.

It could have been a different outcome for Baltimore, had it not been for Matt Nokes, the six-time All-Star . Nokes contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Baltimore up, 4-3.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Baltimore manager Daniel Ward.

San Francisco's current losing streak is now 4 games.
