Montreal first baseman Matt Williams had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Colorado Rockies, 5-2. Chris Nabholz got the win, improving to 8-4. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The first-place Expos now have a 4-game winning streak.

Williams came through with some timely hitting for Montreal. With the score 2-2 in the top of the third and two down, Williams hit a 2-1 slider for a 2-run home run. His 29th home run of the season made it 4-2, Montreal.
