Red Sox Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
Milwaukee got a terrific performance from first baseman Carlos Delgado, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Red Sox. Boston won the Milwaukee County Stadium contest, 8-6. Delgado was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The 5th-place Red Sox have won 5 in a row.

Edgar Renteria produced a go-ahead home run for Boston in the top of the tenth. With two out and a runner on 1st, Renteria hit a 2-run home run off Teddy Higuera. It put the Red Sox in front, 8-6.

"I like our mindset right now," said Boston manager Brett Williams.
