Senators Fall to Schourek and Padres, 3-1
|
San Diego Padres starter Pete Schourek was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Washington Senators, 3-1. Robb Nen notched his 16th save in 17 chances. The Padres, at 47-52, have now won 4 straight.
Schourek, a native of Austin, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Washington hitters off-balance, while giving the Padres 8 quality innings. Schourek threw 104 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Schourek said after the game.
