Dodgers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Baltimore, 6-2
|
Baltimore got a terrific performance from pitcher Ben McDonald, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles won the Dodger Stadium contest, 6-2. McDonald was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. The Dodgers have an impressive 61-38 record.
Los Angeles took a 3-2 lead on Shawn Green's 97th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Green hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Dave Walsh shaking his head.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Green.
