Royals Need Extras to Top Twins
|
Kal Daniels had a good game, but he could not keep the Minnesota Twins from falling, 8-3, to the Kansas City Royals at Metrodome. The Minnesota designated hitter went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 3 times in the loss. With the win, Kansas City elevates its record to 6-5.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of John Olerud to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Royals on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Olerud.
