Cubs Reel Off Another Win
The Chicago Cubs got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Teddy Higuera, but it was good enough for the club to take a 9-3 decision over the New York Yankees. Higuera went the distance for Chicago. He gave up 2 earned runs on 8 hits. The current losing streak for New York has reached 5 games.

The Cubs got an important contribution from third baseman Scott Brosius, who in the bottom of the second hit a 1-1 cutter into left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 1-0.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Chicago manager Anthony Perez.
