Rockies Shut Out Senators
|
The Colorado Rockies topped the Washington Senators, 3-0, in United League action at RFK Stadium. The player of the game was Colorado pitcher Orel Hershiser. The third-place Rockies have won 5 in a row.
The Rockies beat the Senators with some clutch hitting. The single by Daryl Boston in the top of the first is a good example. With two down, Boston gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Colorado manager JD Morris.
