Red Sox Come Up Short at St. Louis
|
Boston got a terrific performance from right fielder Todd Hollandsworth, but it wasn't enough to beat the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis won the Busch Stadium contest, 5-4. Hollandsworth was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Cardinals now have a record of 60-41.
Dan Wilson, the St. Louis catcher, contributed a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 5-3, Cardinals. For the game, Wilson went 1 for 4 with a home run.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Wilson.
