Rogers KOs Yankees
|
Texas turned a good effort from starter Kenny Rogers into a win over the New York Yankees at Arlington Stadium. The final score was 6-1. New York now has a 7-game losing streak.
Rogers, a native of Savannah, Georgia, was dealing all game. He kept New York hitters off-balance, while giving the Rangers 9 quality innings. Rogers threw 117 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 9.
"I thought we were prepared," New York manager Patrick McQuail said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
