Giants Clip Mets, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets, Butch Henry was the difference-maker. The San Francisco left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Randy Myers earned his 22nd save in 26 chances. The Giants bumped their record to 54-48 with this latest triumph.
Helping the San Francisco cause was Alvin Davis. In the top of the eighth, the 33-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly to make the score 3-0, Giants.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Henry said.
