The Toronto Blue Jays and Colorado Rockies obliged those fans who came to SkyDome hoping for an exciting game.
The Toronto Blue Jays topped the Colorado Rockies, 6-5, with youngster Carlos Delgado playing a key role. Delgado was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays in the win. Antonio Osuna earned his 21st save in 24 chances.
Dean Palmer was a prime factor in the win for the Blue Jays. In the bottom of the eighth with two out, the 26-year old third baseman hit a 2-run home run. He was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Colorado manager JD Morris. "But we decided not to take it."
The Blue Jays sit in 4th place in the United League East Division with a record of 56-46.
