Senators Lose, 6-2, at Dodger Stadium
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Washington Senators by the score of 6-2, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Rafael Palmeiro. Palmeiro went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Dodgers. Los Angeles is third in the United League West Division with a record of 46-57.
Palmeiro contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Los Angeles in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Palmeiro took a fastball from Erik Hanson and stroked the home run to left. His 21st home run of the season allowed the Dodgers to leap in front, 3-1.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Palmeiro.
