Cubs Clip Spiders in Tight Contest

The Chicago Cubs saddled the Cleveland Spiders with a loss at League Park. The final score was 8-6. Scott Cooper, named player of the game, was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Chicago third baseman scored 3 runs and drove in 1. The winner was Mike Schooler in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Mark Wohlers took the loss.
