Spiders Lose, 6-1, at Busch Stadium
|
The St. Louis Cardinals topped the Cleveland Spiders, 6-1, in Federal League action at Busch Stadium. The player of the game was St. Louis pitcher and Joliet, Illinois native Mike J Grace. The Cardinals, at 50-53, have now won 4 straight.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from right fielder Karim Garcia. For the game, Garcia was 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 19th home run of the season gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead.
"The vibe's good," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel. "We've got to keep it going."
