Baerga Slugs Pirates to 4-0 Win
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates bested the Texas Rangers by a score of 4-0, with second baseman Carlos Baerga getting the main credit. On the day, Baerga hit 2 home runs for the Pirates. Pittsburgh now owns a record of 55-48.
With the clubs tied 0-0 in the top of the fourth and the bases empty, Pittsburgh sent Baerga to the plate. He got a 1-1 fastball and hit a solo home run, to put the Pirates on top, 1-0.
