The Chicago White Sox topped the Florida Marlins, 6-1, in Federal League action at Comiskey Park. The player of the game was Chicago pitcher Chris Bosio. The White Sox now own a record of 45-57.

Tony Batista had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single, helping Chicago to the win.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Batista told a Chicago Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
