Karros 4-4 to Power Cubs Offense
|
The Chicago Cubs downed the Pittsburgh Pirates, 12-4, at Wrigley Field. Eric Karros led the way, going 4-for-4 for Chicago. Chicago occupies third place in the Federal League Central Division at 60-43.
There was more than one reason the Cubs beat the Pirates, but Karros's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Karros told the Chicago Citizen. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
