Rockies Trip Tigers, 3-2
|
The Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies provided some drama at Tiger Stadium.
Steve Trachsel pitched well, but the Detroit Tigers still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Colorado Rockies at Tiger Stadium. Colorado starter Clint Zavaras was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Joey Eischen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 20 save opportunities.
Steve Gibralter had a nice at-bat for the Rockies with one out in the top of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the center fielder hit a 3-run home run, which would prove important in the Colorado win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Gibralter told reporters after the game.
With the win, the Rockies have a record of 46-56.
